“It feels like Trinity is a hidden gem. Grace loves attending 4K at Trinity Academy! The small class sizes allow for individualized attention and kids to work at their own pace, and I love that she is learning how to pray and love Jesus in the classroom."

Lt. Brendan Lee

Class of 2016

Brendan recently graduated from the Norwich Military Academy in Vermont and has been commissioned as a Lieutenant in the US Air Force.

Growing up in Panama, it never really occurred to me what American education was like or how much better it could be. After living there for 15 years, I moved to Milwaukee, where my parents, thankfully, decided to put me in Trinity Academy for a heightened learning experience. They wanted me to be ahead of the curve when it came to college academia. That's exactly what Trinity Academy prepared me for!

My favorite class was easily Physics, as that was a class that intrigued and challenged me. Trinity also helped me in my moral background a lot. You just don't find people quite like Trinity people at normal schools. I found that surrounding myself with good, morally developed people while also having friends that aren't as morally developed in my life surely gave me the ability to compare and contrast and I could easily discern my own "right from wrong" in the real world.

My favorite memories at Trinity would probably be any time spent with friends. The trip to the Spring Green Outdoor Shakespeare Theater was always fun, it allowed us to escape campus for a little while and socialize among ourselves while learning a thing or two about classic literature and playwriting. As of right now, I am a Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. In the May of 2020, I graduated from the Military College of the State of Vermont (Norwich University) where I majored in Political Science with a minor in Chinese. I was also a cadet member in the professional officer corps (POC) in Air Force ROTC and I served as a Cadet Captain in my Air Force Detachment in charge of squadron operations and freshman field training preparations. Attending this university has been anything but easy and keeping up with a busy and physically demanding lifestyle has had its challenges but one thing that I am greatly appreciative about is my ability to keep up with all of my academics. I was able to graduate with a strong GPA. Trinity Academy has greatly influenced my ability to achieve academic greatness and manage a busy school work load. This was important for me because, without the strong and steady academic life I had at Trinity, I would not be able to do the things I am doing now.

Good morning Dr. and Mrs. Mitchell,

I hope that this email finds you both well in health and in Spirit. Recently, in spiritual direction, I was asked to write a spiritual biography. As I have been writing this biography, a huge portion of my spiritual life includes the Mercy that you both have shown me. I truly would not be the person I am today without the foundation you gave me in my education. You introduced me to so many people: Mary, the Mother of God, St. Louis De Montfort, St. John Bosco, and St. John Paul II to name a few. The moral foundation you provided for me has been the compass for so many decisions I have made in my life. This education continues to benefit not only me, but my husband, my children, and the community that surrounds me. Recently, I have been a part of helping write a Vatican II study and spear head a study of the Theology of the Body (which I recorded and will share it with you soon.).

Moreover, and the most important thing, you showed me has been Jesus. Before I came to Trinity, I did not know that Jesus was truly present in the Eucharist. I will never forget the first time I met Dr. Mitchell while a visiting at school. Adoration was taking place, and Dr. Mitchell told me I needed to genuflect in front of the Eucharist as we visited the chapel. I had no idea what he was talking about, but the way in which he spoke to me suggested a reverence that I needed and so desperately desired. I had a strong desire to listen to Dr. Mitchell.

Then in 8th grade Mrs. Mitchell told me to study at home and read John 6. I was floored as I read.!! This whole time, in that tiny piece of bread, was Jesus; and I was such a fool ignoring Him. From that point on, I was on a quest to get as close as possible to Him, receive Him often, and share Him with everyone I met.

Today, I am gathering all my old notes from the Papal encyclicals I studied while at Trinity, and I am inviting a small group of young people to study them with me. I envision doing this just as I was taught, pouring over the words of Paul VI in Humanae Vitae, and the words of St. John Paul II in Vita Consecrata; and maybe, these teachings too will draw this group ever closer to the Heart of Jesus.

Thank you is not enough to express my deep gratitude for the beauty, the wonder, the awe and the love you have given me during my education at Trinity. You changed my life completely. Thank you.Prayers for you, especially now in these challenging days, and May God bless you always!

Much love,

Therese Moen O’Grady, Class of 2003

“Trinity Academy was a blessing in disguise when I transferred to TA my junior year. Over the next two years I learned numerous lessons about life and the Catholic faith that I continue to carry with me to this day. My time at Trinity will forever be a pivotal foundation of my teenage years.”
